Crouching down, you wave your hands in an aggressive yet controlled manner, clearing away the mist. Examining the ground closely, you notice a myriad of indented panels on the floor. Speculating that they must be a trigger for some sort of trap, you carefully maneuver around them, until you arrive at the coffin unharmed.

The coffin is comprised of two stone slabs – a large base and a lid. No symbols or markings of any kind adorn the silent structure. Curious, you attempt to remove the lid to examine the contents contained inside. With some difficulty, you manage to nudge the lid enough to the side to get a peak. You are delighted to see that the coffin is full of gold trinkets of all sorts, a welcome reprieve from what one would typically expect. Before you have time to reflect on this boon, you hear the sound of someone descending the stairs. Panicked, you nudge the lid more to the side, then, hastily climbing in, close the lid to the best of your ability once inside.

Laying inside the coffin, you hear the footsteps outside your stone sanctuary grow louder. Your body tenses up as you imagine the unknown entity gathering closer, when you are jolted out of your slumber by the swift closing of the lid. You attempt to move it, but find it resists your every attempt. While all this is occurring, you notice from the illumination offered from your pocket lamp that the gold trinkets surrounding you are beginning to melt. Perturbed and puzzled, the liquid gold begins to rise higher and higher, and puzzlement soon gives way to panic. You bang on the lid with renewed ferocity, but it all proves to be in vain. While you fight until the bitter end, the rising gold eventually extinguishes your pocket lamp, and soon enough, your life.
